Johannes Itten: Art as Life

Bauhaus Utopias and Documents of Reality

The Kunstmuseum Bern is devoting an exhibition to the prominent Swiss artist and Bauhaus master Johannes Itten in 2019, the Bauhaus centenary year. The exhibition sets itself the goal of being the first ever to present this artist’s utopian vision of uniting art and life in an all-embracing way.

Dear Expats and Friends,
The spectacular Light festival in Murten will take
place again from January 15th to January 26th 2020!
As last year, we would like to spend this Light festival together and celebrate with you the
NEW YEAR.
Our proposal: Let’s meet for a Networking Apero on a floating boat on the Lake of Murten at
6:30pm (boat is docked in Murten harbour). For those of you who would like to walk down together,

Monday January 20, 2020
Time: 6.45pm to 08.00 pm, NEW YEAR APERO (Cash Bar)
Location: Romandie II Drachenbar or Romandie I, Reachable within 10 minutes walk
from the Murten train station or within 5 minutes from the parking at the Hotel
Schiff or at Murten Berntor.
Cost: Apero (cashbar) + 8 CHF for the boat tour (Change prepared is welcome)
During this special evening, we will enjoy together each place where the light show is happening in
the historical city of Murten from 06.00 pm to 10.00 pm! https://www.murtenlichtfestival.ch/
There is a 5 CHF entrance fee to the light festival
Bring your own sandwich with you! There are opportunities for Gluhwein in the street. Do not
forget to dress warmly! Please RSVP to Tony Arquisch (tony.arquisch@gmail.com) and let him
know if you are attending and where you would like to meet, Berntor or on the boat!
How to come: As this event becomes very popular, think about enough time to commute to Murten!
You can commute by train (recommended), by car and by boat.

The organization on www.cantonale.ch has two museum tours on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 January.

The first in direction Thun and Interlaken
The second in direction Biel and Jura.

Die Kunsttour «Circuit» verbindet die neun Kunstinstitutionen der Cantonale Berne Jura miteinander und ermöglicht eine vertiefte Auseinandersetzung mit den ausgestellten Kunstpositionen. Die Tour bietet Vermittlungsangebote an, die von Kurator*innen, Künstler*innen und Kunstvermittler*innen für dieses Angebot entwickelt wurden.

Der Kunstbus Circuit vereinfacht den Besucher*innen die Reise und bringt sie bequem von Kunsthaus zu Kunstmuseum und wieder zurück.
